BCP Associates commemorates 5 years of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Law in India – Jan 16th 2019

BCP Associates hosted an exclusive closed-door event for their esteemed clients commemorating 5 years of the POSH Act in India – Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition & Redressal) Act 2013 on 16th January 2019 at Hotel Capitol, Bengaluru. 100+ members representing over 30 companies attended the event.

 

Current Trends in POSH

The keynote speaker for the session was Sri. B.C Prabhakar (BCP) who covered wide ranging topics relating to Prevention of Sexual Harassment at Workplace Act and the current challenges faced by Companies and the Internal Committees (IC) in dealing with these situations. Topics ranged from

  • Impact and challenges of the #metoo movement
  • Implications of the recent Genpact case
  • Global versus local POSH policies
  • Recent key POSH judgements
  • Employee sensitization and much more …

 

Best Practices in POSH

This was followed by a session which showcased JDA Technologies on an employee engagement event on POSH held in November 2018 which was curated and designed by BCP Associates in collaboration with JDA. The event also witnessed a panel discussion comprising of experienced IC members from reputed MNCs (including SAP & Unisys) who covered a wide array of scenarios and challenges faced by IC members in the rapidly changing POSH landscape. The panel deliberated on best practices to be followed, including skill building for IC members in light of the increased complexity of cases being reported. The event concluded with BCP Associates providing a curtain raiser on a scintillating theatrical performance of a typical POSH scenario in today’s workplace. An event that was truly appreciated by all present.

The team envisages creating a BCPA POSH community (#bcpaposh) that would serve as a platform for its clients and take the collaboration to greater levels – a culture of share and learn – that which is a natural extension to our existing set of POSH services.
